Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV). Vision here means a prophetic understanding of future reality. Without purpose and direction, progress is impossible. Knowing our purpose is crucial.

God gives humanity a purpose, a destination, and a path to get there, encapsulated in the Bible, including its laws. “Torah” is better translated as teaching or instruction. We must understand God’s purpose for humanity: not just saving souls, but creating beings like Himself. This involves free moral agency, a creative process requiring active engagement, growth, and development, unlike passive salvation.

God’s law helps shape our character to mirror His own. The Bible describes a process to transform us into God-beings. Jesus Christ exemplified this transformation by living a sinless life, adhering to God’s law, and sacrificing Himself. His life and teachings guide us in our journey to become like God in nature and character.

Scriptures highlight this transformative journey. Ephesians 1:4-5 reveals God’s plan to create us in His image. Philippians 2:5-8 describes Christ’s humility and obedience, setting an example for us. 2 Peter 1:4-7 and 1 John 3:1-3 speak of our potential to partake in the divine nature and be called children of God.

Christ’s incarnation, life, and crucifixion demonstrate the path we must follow. He was begotten by God through the Holy Spirit, lived without sin, and became the firstborn Son of God. His teachings and the Bible provide us with the instructions needed to live a life that reflects God’s character.

The law is essential in our transformation. It is not merely about salvation but producing children of God. Obeying God’s commandments helps us develop a character like Christ’s, reflecting God’s nature. Our life’s work is to embody this law, allowing God to transform us into His image.

We cannot earn salvation by works; it is a gift from God. However, we must die to our old selves, submit to God’s law, and live according to His will. This process of crucifixion and resurrection mirrors Christ’s journey and is essential for our transformation into God-beings, inheriting eternal life and sonship in God’s family.
